Gaby’s Journey In Finding Her Passion…

Gaby is one of our students and is currently enrolled in our program. Here’s her heartfelt story in finding her passion:

After taking a BA in Psychology and a masters degree in Management I decided to start off working in the fashion retail industry, specifically in the HR and Operations department.

It has been a long struggle for me to truly find my passion and calling in life. I wanted to find a job where I can feel excited to come to work every morning, and I wasn’t able to find this excitement during my time in retail.

However, I found that doing training was one of the highlights of my day. Based on this discovery and after deciding to help out in Sunday school, I decided to try out as a TA (Teacher’s Assistant) in a preschool in Jakarta. I found myself enjoying myself more than I thought, and started to search for further education in early childhood.

A friend of mine recommended STT (Sunshine Teachers’ Training) and I decided to enrol for the Diploma in Montessori Education that they offer.

It turned out to be one of the best decisions of my life. I am so blessed to be able to study in STT and am enjoying every minute of it. blackboard-959608_640

I fell in love with the Montessori method. I believe that it is the best approach towards early childhood education that I have encountered so far. The theories are all based on solid facts and psychological findings, and are also in line with my own values and beliefs.

Miss Jenny is an excellent teacher. She is passionate about Montessori, is generous in sharing previous teaching experiences. She is able to explain difficult theories in the most simplest of terms.

I love how Montessori stands out from all other approaches in that it is highly structured but allows for freedom in the classroom. I believe that the Montessori method will develop a love of learning in the hearts of children, which will foster creativity and create bright future leaders.

I hope that STT will continue to grow and educate their students to help transform the culture of a more rigid chalk-and-talk education system here in Indonesia, to develop more children with high analytical and critical thinking skills”.

Half way through the program, Gaby decided to set up her own Montessori Enrichment Centre for 0-6 years that will be affordable. Gaby signed up for our consultations to help her set up her dream school. It is currently in the preparation stages. Her center is scheduled to start in November of 2015.
